David McAllister MEP regrets "no structured EU-UK cooperation in the area of foreign, security, and defence policy."

It was noticeable that when McAllister’s report was passed by the committee in November of last year, it had overwhelming approval, with only two MEPs voting against: Gunner Beck of the Kremlin-friendly Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), and Helmut Scholz of DER LINKE, considered to be the direct descendant of the Marxist–Leninist ruling party of the former East Germany, the Socialist Unity Party of Germany.
