Islamic State Alleges Infliction of Injuries or Fatalities on 500 Individuals in Moscow Concert Hall Assault

The Al Naba newspaper, known as the mouthpiece of Islamic State (IS), has published an editorial about the deadly assault on Moscow’s Crocus City Hall that occurred last Friday.

According to the publication, three gunmen were assigned the gruesome task of shooting concert-goers, while another assailant ignited a fire within the building.

Following their inability to thwart the attack, the Russian government has resorted to blaming the West, as outlined by Al Naba.

In a desperate attempt to shift the narrative, accusations of collusion with Western powers have emerged, highlighting the extent of Russia’s vulnerability in the face of such extremist threats.

“After a resounding defeat, Russia found no other option but to level ‘conspiracy accusations’ against its adversaries in the ‘Western camp’, in an attempt to evade admitting its significant failure in the face of the jihadists,” emphasised the publication.

Furthermore, the Al Naba editorial points out Russia’s vested interest in interrogating captives in a manner that serves its own political agenda.

This suggests a calculated move by Russian authorities to exploit the situation for their own strategic advantage, rather than focusing on addressing the root causes of terrorism.

The attack has sparked widespread condemnation and raised concerns about the growing influence of extremist ideologies within Russia.

President Vladimir Putin’s assertion that the attack was orchestrated by “radical Islamists” while insinuating Western involvement has only added fuel to the fire.

Interestingly, the Islamic State (IS) did not attribute the Moscow concert hall attack to its branch in Afghanistan, ISIS-K. Instead, IS claimed in its weekly report that ISIS-K fighters killed or injured 44 people.

Notably, Russia was listed separately, with IS claiming responsibility for the deaths or injuries of 500 individuals.
