One of the joys of journalism is that we get to speak with some of the most important decision makers. We also get to know what is happening – indeed what is about to happen – before we share it with the rest of the world.

One of the biggest names in EU journalism is that of Chris White.

Although he semi-retired a few years ago, after an incredible career, Chris remains highly active.

Indeed, he is a much valued contributor to EU Today.

His column – Chris’ Corner – is essential reading for anybody who wants to know what is really going on, and who wants to take an informed peek behind the scenes.

When Chris recently recently landed in Brussels to cover a high level conference European Humanitarian Forum 2024: Addressing A Global Crisis, we not only tracked him down (never easy), but during his busy schedule in the European Parliament also managed to glue him to a seat in front of our camera.

Having begun his career with the Daily Sketch, where he interviewed stars including The Beatles and Sammy Davies Jr., he went on to work as a political correspondent where he got to interview some of the biggest names in politics.

He then went on to work at the heart of the EU, where he broke some very high controversial stories.

He has an unparalleled first-hand perspective on the EU, on the UK’s relationship with Europe, and he knows where the bodies are buried…..
