Klette was apprehended in a modest rental apartment, concealing her identity under a false Italian passport.

Although police discovered ammunition magazines and bullets in her possession, no firearm was found at the scene.

Authorities also confirmed the arrest of an older male figure associated with Klette, though details regarding his involvement remain undisclosed.

The successful capture of Klette follows years of relentless pursuit by law enforcement, involving the examination of countless leads.

Daniela Behrens, the state minister overseeing the police, emphasized that terrorists cannot evade justice indefinitely, underscoring the unwavering commitment of law enforcement agencies.

Driven by Marxist-Leninist ideology, the group aimed to challenge American and capitalist interests, resulting in the deaths of 33 individuals.

Among their notable attacks was the assassination of prominent figures such as the Chief Federal Prosecutor Siegfried Buback and the kidnapping and murder of Hanns Martin Schleyer, a prominent industrialist.

One of the defining moments in the RAF’s history was the “German Autumn” of 1977, marked by a series of high-profile events including the hijacking of a Lufthansa airplane and the subsequent deaths of several key RAF members in prison, including Andreas Baader, Gudrun Ensslin, and Jan-Carl Raspe.

Klette belonged to the third generation of RAF members, implicated in the bombing of a prison facility in Hesse, causing substantial property damage.

Following the disbandment of the RAF in 1998, Klette and her associates reportedly transitioned to armed robbery, targeting supermarkets.

Investigators continue to search for clues within Klette’s apartment, with a focus on locating her two accomplices. Despite setbacks, law enforcement officials remain resolute in their pursuit of justice, as emphasized by Mr. de Vries.
