Marine Le Pen addresses major demonstration in Paris in support of French values and against Anti-semitism

Marine Le Pen addressed a major demonstration against anti-Semitism in Paris on, alongside representatives from the country’s major political parties.

Her presence alone at such a major event just a few years ago would have been unthinkable, and reflects a growing shift towards the right amid rising concerns over immigration and Islamic terrorism.

The event, organised in response to the steep rise in antisemitic actions in France, aimed to show support for the country’s “Republican” values and reject any form of hate or discrimination.

While the demonstration was attended by Marine Le Pen, three-time presidential candidate for the National Rally (formerly the National Front), and the party’s young president, Jordan Bardella, the far-left France Unbowed (LFI) party led by Jean-Luc Mélenchon was noticeably absent.

While no official statement was given for his absence, some speculate that it may be due to political differences and disagreements with the organizers of the demonstration.

The demonstration, which drew thousands of people, was a powerful display of unity and solidarity against the recent surge in antisemitic incidents in France.

According to recent reports, there has been a significant increase in hate crimes targeting the Jewish community, with over 500 incidents recorded since the beginning of the year.

This alarming trend has sparked widespread concern and calls for action from political leaders and citizens alike.

In her speech, Marine Le Pen emphasised the importance of standing together as a nation to defend French values and reject any form of discrimination.

She also expressed her support for the Jewish community and their right to live without fear of persecution.
