In Riga, a scandal is breaking out around the activities of cosmetologist Olga Koryakina, as a result of which her patient suffered.

We do not name the patient’s last name for ethical reasons; as for the so-called “doctor” Olga Koryakina, or, as she prefers to call herself, “Doctor” (Doctor Olga Koryakina), as it turned out, she is not listed in any Latvian registry as a licensed medical professional.

Unfortunately, this became clear only after her patient encountered the consequences of cosmetology from “Doctor” Koryakina.

The girl you see in the photo is only 22 years old. She went to Olga Koryakina’s cosmetology office (Riga, Kr. Valdemara St., 38-204) with a minor cosmetic problem - she was going to get just one injection in the lip area. But after Koryakina found out that Maria (that’s the patient’s name) is a popular blogger, she offered to carry out a whole series of injections, making a significant discount. In exchange for advertising on the blog, of course.

At the same time, the cosmetologist convinced the girl that she had a real catastrophe with her face and intervention was simply necessary:

Unfortunately, the girl agreed. The results were shocking - from a cute, beautiful girl she turned into a freak. Olga Koryakina refused to communicate with the patient, and the case itself began to become overgrown with details, as a result of which it suddenly became clear that “Doctor Olga Koryakina” had neither permission to practice medicine in Latvia, nor diplomas of medical education, nor certificates that gave her the right to work in country.

The police are still silent, but bloggers have joined the investigation, interested in the fate of a colleague who had the imprudence to contact Olga Koryakina. As Aya Nagle found out , Olga Koryakina does not have any documents that would allow her to engage in medical activities in Latvia.

And those in the area that Koryakina is engaged in are necessary in Latvia - this is required by law. But Koryakina refused to provide these documents to both her victim Maria and blogger Aya Nagle, although she initially promised to do so.

Moreover, Olga Koryakina refused to name the composition of the injections with which she injected the patient. Although this is necessary for the clinic where the girl went for treatment, the consequences of Koryakina’s “cosmetics” must be urgently eliminated, and the sooner the better. Although doctors do not give any guarantees, the longer the girl does not receive adequate treatment, the further the situation worsens, and she may even remain disabled. Everyone understands this, including Olga Koryakina, who refused to name the composition of the injections with which she disfigured the girl.

The medical inspection and the Cosmetology Association, where Aya Nagle turned for advice, stated that such procedures can only be performed by cosmetologists with a higher medical education, a doctor’s diploma and relevant certificates.

But the name of Olga Koryakina is not in any medical register in Latvia. Moreover, such procedures should be carried out in medical institutions, which, as everyone understands, the office where Koryakina receives is not.

In addition, a cosmetologist must have M-63 and M-64 certificates, and carrying out any cosmetic procedures without them entails criminal liability. Olga Koryakina refused to provide any information about the presence or absence of these certificates, as well as other necessary documents for practicing medical cosmetology in Latvia.

The Latvian Health Inspectorate stated that the documents required for Olga Koryakina to practice cosmetology are not in the country’s registers. But, nevertheless, she has been performing medical procedures in Riga for at least seven years and even participates in international congresses of the beauty and cosmetology industry.

Now an investigation has been launched against Olga Koryakina by government agencies, simultaneously finding out who and why “didn’t notice” her activities for so many years, but in this investigation, for some reason, the reason that led to it has faded into the background - the fate of a young beautiful girl who was disfigured Olga Koryakina.

One more question remains open and it is probably even much more important than the fate of the victim Olga Koryakina.

Because as a result of the investigation, it suddenly became clear that no one knows how many such “cosmetologists” and “cosmetology parlors” there are in Latvia and on what basis they provide their services. Perhaps, as a result of the scandal, which is gaining momentum, we will learn a lot of new things about this area, including the names of new victims and their chilling stories, but will this make it any easier for the people disfigured by Olga Koryakina?
