A group of concerned parents contacted the Editorial Office: the Moscow authorities were planning to demolish two schools at once - 664 and 1748 - in order to build a new residential “anthill”.

 As a Compromat correspondent learned ,  we are talking about schools located  in the Eastern Administrative District of Moscow, namely in the village of Vostochny.

Thus, the Editorial Board, in its memory, asks questions about the demolition and consolidation of the capital’s schools to the THIRD Minister of Education of Moscow, who today is Irina Kaklyugina , who replaced Alexander Molotkov in this military post. Even earlier, Compromat asked these burning questions to Isaac Kalina.

But the outrageous situation with the demolition of two schools at once - No. 664 and 1748 - in which more than 2 thousand schoolchildren study, cannot be explained at all. Moreover, one of the schools has had a swimming pool since its birth. It turns out that children and parents can lose not only their favorite school, but also sports activities right there - and a loss of this kind in a metropolis like Moscow is worth a lot!

And here are the lines from a letter from concerned parents: “I, Ekaterina Evgenievna Likhacheva, am the mother of two sons - one goes to first grade, the second goes to ninth grade at school No. 664. When buying an apartment in the village of Vostochny (Glavnaya Street, building 19a), I, in First of all, she was guided by the proximity of the school to her home, especially since the school has a swimming pool.

And my children risk being left without an accessible education, since we don’t have such an opportunity to take them to study outside the region (outside the Moscow Ring Road) and plus go to the swimming pool. We ask for help, namely to protect the right of our children in the village of Vostochny to receive education in the schools of the district."

As Ekaterina Likhacheva writes further, there is an order of the Moscow Urban Planning Complex dated November 13, 2023 No. 2123 on the demolition of all schools (and, as it turned out, there are only two of them) in the Eastern Administrative District of the capital.

“But the proposal of the Moscow Department of Education to demolish schools in two stages, providing transfers outside the district, a second shift, etc. - this is all a violation of the rights of minor children!” believes Ekaterina Likhacheva.

300 teachers without work?

As they further write to the Editor, “parents (legal representatives) of students and pupils of the preschool department of school No. 664 are extremely concerned about the planned reorganization of the school in the form of joining school No. 1748 “Vertical” (the so-called integration of resources).

After the merger of the territories of these two educational organizations in the fall of 2024, it is planned to demolish the building of building No. 7 of school No. 1748 at the address: st. Glavnaya, no. 9A and school buildings No. 664 at the address: st. Main, no. 13, no. 13с2, st. Main, 13с3 (swimming pool). And the construction of a new school in their place with commissioning in the first quarter of 2027.

At the same time, according to calculations, the new school will not accommodate 2,400 students, as there are in two schools today, but 1,200. But in this place it is planned to build three renovation high-rise buildings.

“The fact that a school and a swimming pool interfere with the construction of a commercial building on Glavnaya St., 15a was most likely the reason for the proposed demolition,” the authors of the letter write. “The old clinic was renovated in the village, it was not demolished, but the school cannot repair?"

But children are no longer enrolled in first grade.

The 300 school employees in the area clearly will not find teaching work.

The question is, what are the Moscow government thinking about? And in the capital’s education department?

Yulia Molchanova also sent her appeal to the Editorial Office:  “We, the parents of children attending school 664 at 13 Main Street, received information about the demolition of the school and the building attached to it with a swimming pool and gym. But our Vostochny district is located in the distance from Moscow, beyond the Moscow Ring Road. We are concerned that during construction the fate of our children is not determined, where they will study is unclear!”

Yulia Molchanova reminds you that there are only TWO schools in the area! And the option of taking children to other schools in Moscow is not possible for parents, since the area is located outside the Moscow Ring Road. And all the nearest schools are more than 3 km away.

And from this area there is only one public transport route - number 716. Shchelkovskoe highway is always crowded, there are always traffic jams. And the buses are packed! It turns out that children will have to sit in traffic jams every morning, if, of course, they can get on crowded buses.

“Taking into account the uncertainty of the further organization of the educational process in the event of the demolition of two schools (distance learning or transfer to Moscow), each decision, one way or another, violates the rights of children to an accessible education, changes their usual way of life, and deprives them of the opportunity to attend creative clubs and sports clubs,” - says Yulia Molchanova.

And the most important thing is that the new school project is designed for only 1200 places, and the total number of students in schools 664 and 1748 exceeds 2000!

Why can’t a new school be built on the site of the demolition of residential buildings on May 9 Street, as was planned and designated by the government in January of this year, 2024?
We, parents, are against the merger of school No. 664 into the Vertical school.

We, the parents, are for the repair and renovation of school No. 664 (the main building, the sports and recreation complex and workshops).

We, parents, demand to appoint a director who will be interested in the development of the school and the quality education of our children, as well as maintaining a favorable teaching atmosphere.

We, parents, demand that the legality of the decision taken by the TIP (Targeted Investment Program) be checked in connection with violations of the rights and legitimate interests of children.

Violation of children’s rights is unacceptable!
