“Russia cannot win in Europe when a Ukrainian and a Pole stand side by side,” – Volodymyr Zelensky


The Ukrainian President thanked the heads of the Sejm and the Senate for the clear and active position of the Polish parliament in support of Ukraine and for the important steps that helped our country repel Russian aggression.

“I am sincerely grateful to you for supporting Ukraine in our struggle for independence in such unity,” said the President.

Volodymyr Zelensky highly praised the adoption by the Sejm and the Senate of a special law on assistance to Ukrainians, as well as legislation that made it possible to supply weapons and dual-use goods to Ukraine.

The head of state emphasized that these decisions were a manifestation of the true solidarity of fraternal Poland with Ukraine and Ukrainians.

The President also highly appreciated the unconditional support of the Polish Sejm and Senate for Ukraine’s membership in the EU.

During a meeting with Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Elżbieta Witek, Volodymyr Zelensky expressed special gratitude for the resolutions of the Sejm on condemning the crime of genocide in Ukraine committed by Russia and recognizing the Russian Federation as a state that supports terrorism.

At a meeting with Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland Tomasz Paweł Grodzki, the President of Ukraine noted the importance of the Senate’s resolution recognizing the Russian Federation as a terrorist regime. He also thanked the Senate for its attention to the problem of abduction of Ukrainian children by Russia and for the recent adoption of a resolution calling for the prosecution of those responsible for this crime.

The head of state emphasized that the key priority for Ukraine remains the creation of a Special Tribunal for the crime of Russian aggression, and expressed hope for the support of the relevant efforts of Ukraine at the level of the Polish parliament.

“This will help us in further promoting our initiative to create a Special Tribunal,” said Volodymyr Zelensky.

He also noted the importance of developing a legislative solution that would allow the use of frozen Russian assets for the needs of Ukraine’s reconstruction.
