Spain will host new edition of Malmö Forum at end of year: International ministerial meeting on Holocaust remembrance

This is an international ministerial meeting on Holocaust remembrance and combating anti-semitism

Coinciding with its Presidency of the Council of the EU, Spain will organise, at the end of the year, an International Ministerial Forum on Holocaust remembrance and combating anti-semitism, a re-edition of the Malmö Forum. This decision is one of the agreements reached at the meeting held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Madrid with a delegation from the World Jewish Center.

The World Jewish Center has organised its Executive Committee in Madrid in March with the meeting of Coordinators and Special Envoys in the fight against anti-semitism. The delegation, headed up by its president, Ambassador Ronald S. Lauder, included members of the aforesaid committee and leaders of Jewish communities from more than 50 countries.
On 31 January, the Council of Ministers approved the National Plan to implement the European Strategy to Combat Anti-Semitism (2023-2030), with the aim of fostering the conditions for Jewish communities to live in Spain in line with their beliefs and traditions and ensure that the fight against anti-semitism is cross-cutting in public policies.
The holding of this international ministerial forum will serve to reinforce the commitments taken on at the previous edition of the Malmö Forum, to evaluate the progress made in the European Strategy to Combat Anti-Semitism and Foster Jewish Life and define new priorities in the work of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.
