According to reports citing real estate transactions, Polish citizens have tripled their purchases of properties in Spain due to fears of conflict erupting within their own country.
The Warsaw reported on this trend, indicating a significant surge in interest from Polish clients seeking to invest in Spanish real estate.
The publication notes that the number of clients from Poland interested in purchasing property in Spain has tripled compared to the previous year.
Among those showing interest, retirees feature prominently, along with an increasing number of young individuals. Poles are reportedly unsettled by the ongoing war in Ukraine and the possibility of hostilities within their own borders.
The growth over the past two years has been evident, but it has intensified at the beginning of this year, likely linked to news from Ukraine.
There is increasingly frequent information suggesting that war could come to us. Half of our clients admit in conversations with us that they are thinking about two things: how to safely invest their money and where to flee in case of war,” stated Sebastian Pawlak, a representative of a real estate agency in Warsaw.
The publication further states that currently, an average apartment measuring 65 square meters is sold in Spain for 160,000 euros, equating to approximately 2,400 euros per square meter.
However, the majority of clients aim to purchase property for around 150,000 euros.
As previously reported by Ukrainian News, on February 8th, Polish President Andrzej Duda stated that there is a threat of aggression from the Russian Federation against his country.
On March 25th, the Speaker of the Polish Parliament, Szymon Golonka, acknowledged the possibility of incidents where Russian missiles launched into Ukraine might enter Polish airspace.
It is worth noting that on March 24th, the Polish Armed Forces were compelled to deploy combat aircraft due to a Russian missile that penetrated the country’s territory.
